Boku dake ga Inai Machi – Erased

Having previewed most of current anime this season it didn’t take long to settle on a clear favorite. Boku dake ga Inai Machi or Erased as the English title is a mystery thriller with some light use of time travel.

It’s hard to describe Erased without spoilers so I’ll stick to the premise. The main character Satoru has the ability to travel back in time to key moments to prevent disastrous events from transpiring. He soon finds that a case of abductions and disappearances from his childhood.

I found Erased engrossing and kept me on the edge of my seat with every episode, crossing my fingers to not only solve the mystery but to avoid the disaster Satoru is trying to prevent. While the series is still ongoing, I’m eagerly awaiting to see how it turns out.
