Home (Part 4)

As soon as Thomas knocked the door began to swing open on its own accord. The inside was dimly lit by a low burning fire in the fireplace. Wooden furniture was placed around the hut. A hunched figure was near the dim fire, poking it with a stick. Thomas almost didn’t notice at first seeing as the figure was clothed in tattered rags and hunched into a small ball.

“Hello?” Thomas nervously whispered towards the figure. It stopped it’s poking of the fire and slowly stood up, it’s back remained towards Thomas. “I’m trying to get home, do you know the way towards Forest Park?”

The figure slowly turned to face Thomas, and the face he saw before him was not at all what he had expected.
