Defenders (Part 35)

It felt like ages before someone returned. The gray alien along with a tenticale alien that looked like the one who instructed their data-pads to be handed out… maybe it was the same one, how would he know? Arthur stood up.

“Please, sit.” The alien said. “A Mr. Pendrew is it?”

“Yes.” Arthur answered.

“It seems your test has yealed exceptional results… quiate extraordaniry. We have only ever seen these scores once.” The alien contined almost more to itself than to him.

“Is that a bad thing?” Arthur asked, hesitantly.

“Well, it remains to be seen. However, you will need constant guideance in your ablities.” It tapped on a data-pad it had. “Admiral Kle here will be your personal advisor. As per your speciality we’ll simply list you as undecided and you’ll take a mixture of all classes. Is that quite alright?”

“Do I have a choice?” Arthur responded to the alien.

“Only other choice would be to leave the Defenders, as per we’d whipe your memories and return you home… is that what you want?” It responded to him.

“Not really, I’m not sure how I feel about the Defenders yet but it beats my previous course in life…” Arthur remembered the words he didn’t have a choice.

“Good, then it’ll be up to you from here.” It hit some buttons on the data-pad and Arthur’s own lit up. The alien’s words sounded familiar.

He rememebered his “vision” in the pod for a moment then it was gone.

“Adrimal Kle will escort you to the mess. Please go with him.”
