Depression

Jared used to like spending time with friends, but recently it had been easier to just stay at home on weekends. Ever since he lost his job, he felt directionless. Slowly his savings had been shrinking and soon he knew he’d no longer be able to pay for rent.

This, of course, had the effect of making Jared want to work less as the entire problem seemed overwhelming. What was the point? He would ask himself as he settled in to watch another TV show. Even doing something as simple as watching TV took effort for him as most of the time it was easier to lie in bed and stare blankly at his smartphone screen.

Then one day a knock sounded from the door.
